Twenty Ways To Change Your Story

In Chapter 9 of my new book, Fallen, The Adventures of a Deep Water Leaf, a wise Lizard gives Alora a great bit of advice:

when your story becomes a liability, it’s best to let it go

Alora, like most of us, responds to that idea with protest: My story is real! How can I possibly change it? It’s the truth!

With apologies to Paul Simon, I’m afraid I must insist:

THERE MUST BE TWENTY WAYS TO CHANGE YOUR STORY!

Perkins-Fallen-Color-Illustration-Chapter9You just tell a new tale, Gail
Drop all the drama, Mama
Find a new spiel, Neil
Just listen to me

You gotta change your report, Mort
And live a story with more heart
To make a new history, Bea
So you can set yourself free

So, to honor this truth, I am committing to posting one fabulous “change your story” idea here on my blog each day for the next 20 days. I hope you’ll follow them, apply them in your own life, and see some fabulous results. I’d love to see your feedback in the comments!
